El Salvador Making Bitcoin Legal Tender

El Salvador is a small country, where over 20% of the population live in poverty and 70% of the country remains unbanked.

Nayib Bukele, President of El Salvador, revealed that he would propose a new piece of law that would make Bitcoin legal tender in the country. Three days after, the law was voted in by a supermajority in the Salvadoran Congress, receiving 62 out of 84 votes. - P.Mörtl & V.Fiori
